Benefit Concert for Robert Grozl was a great success!
Allow me first to thank everyone who was at the benefit concert, either on stage, off stage or even in the general vicinity of the stage.
Robert was able to tune in via video conferencing, and a lot of friends were able to see him and wish him a speedy recovery. Thanks to everyone for your generosity and ample hugs. I personally had a most excellent time, and am looking forward to scrubbing through the video and audio files and editing the footage into a presentable format. Stay tuned for a DVD with extra behind the scenes content featuring Ahmad.
What mostly excited me, was seeing good friends whom i haven’t seen in a very long time. It was good to see Nick and Kyle – sorry i didn’t get to see your parents, i hope they made it to the show. Kat and Joe, who drove all the way from Massachusetts to see the show and wish Robert well, were a riot; i hope they made it home safely, and i just wanted to let them know that the leftover pizza slice made for a good lunch today!
Ken and Shelly were one of the first people there, full of support and love, and i can’t thank them enough for driving around so much and helping us out during these tough times. I’m looking forward to the 11G Jam with Ken on friday. Who knows, maybe i’ll even bring a little recorder with me. Good to see the young lady who lives in the Oneida Mansion House (you know who you are), and a especially big “Thank You” to everyone else whom i didn’t mention by name, or with whom i didn’t get to talk very much.
Bruce said that this was the best turnout in the Hamilton Local Music Project, the green room was packed. Tune back in to see if we have you on the DVD.
